TRY IT: Pixie Cut Styling Idea – The Slick and Short Pompadour

As Seen on Modern Salon

Need an idea on how to spruce up your client’s super cute pixie cut? Style it into a short pompadour like this one offered by the stylists at Arsova Salon.

THE HAIRCUT:

“The model’s hair had become so long and was overwhelming her face,” says Arsova founder and Creative Director, Anita Arsova. “Hair below the occipital was point cut close to the head to accentuate the head shape, and create a strong, but still feminine shape. Some of the original length from the fringe was retained, but heavily texturized. Using deep slicing with scissors.

THE STYLE:

STEP 1: Prep damp hair with a lightweight Aveda texturizing spray.
STEP 2: Blow dry hair using a paddle brush for smooth, low volume hairstyle.
STEP 3: Tease the fringe and pull it up in a pompadour and use fingertips to
create smooth finish on the sides.
STEP 4: Finish with Aveda Air force hairspray.

THE COLOR:

Wella Cream Lightner with 20 volume was applied to the regrowth and processed for 40 mintues. The finished result was a light/pale level 10 blonde. The hair was toned with Wella Color Touch 10/1 and 6% emulsion for 15 minutes.
