Rocking A New Hair Color Technique With Flamboyage

The Europeans sure know how to create the latest trend in hair coloring. After balayage, flamboyage now officially enters the scene, bringing us the latest approach in hair coloring technique.

The Background on Flamboyage

The hair coloring technique is created by the famed Italian hairdresser and Davines Artistic Director, Angelo Seminara (who won HJ’s British Hairdresser of the Year 2012) and it’s available at Arsova Salon.

Unlike other hair coloring technique (including ombré, balayage, and highlights), flamboyage combines both balayage and ombre method, provides an isolation to locks of hair separated into clear, adhesive strip. The end result gives you an illusion of hair depth, vibrant colors yet look natural without regrowth effect.

How Hairstylist Works Flamboyage for your Hair

The technique is actually quite straightforward: the hairstylist uses a clear, adhesive paper called Flamboyage Meche. The large strip of self-stick paper is created to be versatile, practical, and very easy to use, giving your hairstylist an opportunity to apply the right amount of color to create depth and dimension to your hair in the most creative and artistic way possible.

The selected hair is placed on the adhesive paper and creatively removing excess hair so the hair left in the adhesive will be colored (the secret to get the color flowing naturally), which the paper strip becomes the working surface (similar to balayage). After the coloring, the panel is then folded in half and sealed. Since the paper strip is visible, you can check the color development at a glance, and give you better control.
